Will MediCal continue coverage for wife (stroke) if she returns home but requires 24/7 daily care? Is SNF LTC the only option with MediCal?

Pneumonia, Contracture of muscle, right hand, history of falling.

Hereditary and idiopathic neuropathy, other muscle spasm, anxiety disorder.

Cerebral infarction, chronic ischemic heart disease, essential (primary) hypertension, hyperlipidemia, aphasia, hemiplegia

Medi-cal will not pay for a 24/7 caregiver if that is what you are asking. Are you asking if she can come home and have medi-cal foot the bill for 24 hour care? Because no, they won’t do that. They do pay for caregivers but you have to find and hire the workers. If she has Medicare they also help with that.

Are you asking if MediCal will provide 24/7 home health care? Almost certainly not. But she will not lose her health insurance. Those are two separate issues.

Has your wife been diagnosed with Vascular dementia?
