Is there a program in PA to pay a relative to take care of parent full time?

I have been taking care of my 84 year old Mother for that past 5 years. Taking her to Dr. visits, her banking, paying bills, groceries and some cleaning. She has now gotten where we need to be there 24/7 so I'm thinking of moving in with her. Are there any programs in PA that would pay for me to take care of her in her home?

I just put in search "Train a Loved one or friend to care for you in PA" and got a list of info.

I live in NJ but get the Philly TV stations. Agencies are always advertising they will train a loved one to care for you and pay them. It probably has certain stipulations, like low income on the part of the patient/client. And its probably subsidized by the government so they only allow a percentage of people to qualify but it doesn't hurt to check it out. Call around to Homecare agencies in Moms area and see if they participate.

No. There are no programs that you would pay you to take care of her 24/7. PA has several Medicaid waivers but you may not be able to be paid as her caregiver. You need to PA Department of social services to see what is available & what she qualifies for. Most of these programs pay minimum wage, no benefits, and pay a set number of hours of caregiving.
