Need more info. How old is ur husband? Did he retire from the service? Did he work after retirement for at least 10 yrs to receive SS? Is he disabled getting money thru the service? Did he serve during wartime.
My understanding is that if someone planned on a career in the service he needed to set up a special pension for his wife. That military wives are not entitled to husbands pensions upon death.
You need to contact your local county VA office and find out how it works when you are placed in a VA home. I doubt if you will be left with no money to live on.
