My mom has dementia. She wanted a weave in her hair to make it long and easy to manage, but then wants it out. What do you do?

I paid $200 to have put into her hair. It was not cheap at all. She had it in for less then a week. She state it hurt her head. State if she take it out that will not get done again. So what do you do? -Fran

Frany, I’m afraid you will have to take this as a lesson learned. It was a nice thing for you to do to make your mom happy. But remember, she has dementia and we say on this forum that a person with dementia has a “broken brain”. She will say she wants things and will keep telling you she wants something. You will have to decide whether you can do this or not for her, whether it’s too expensive, or you think she doesn’t really need it. Then you will have to tell her, “maybe next week” and keep giving her excuses until she forgets.
