How do I get caregiver income for individual care from a spouse?

Matt, the majority of family caregivers do not get paid... unless the person we are caring for can pay you directly from their savings. If yes, then one would need to draw up an employment agreement.

Another option is to see if your love one can be accepted by Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. One would need to have a low income. Each State is different, and if your State does pay, note that the pay would be minimal as one isn't paid for 24 hour care, maybe a few hours each day. An "Elder Law Attorney" can help walk you through the maze called Medicaid.
