I care for a dementia patient who doesn't know that she's at home and wants to go home all of the time. Any suggestions?
Been asking to call her husband but he's been gone for 7 yrs now. Told her he was at work and that he loves her very much but she wants to call him on the phone.
Home may not be the one she lives in. Dementia patients tend to go backwards in time. She could be a child in her mind and home is where she was raised. Tell her later, she will forget. Good about telling her husband is working. You might want to say he is not allowed any personal calls.
