is there transportation for food shopping?

My Aunt is 85, has no car, living alone, has no way to go to the store.

Check with the local senior center. Some have contracted buses that make trips to medical and commercial facilities. My father's center has weekly trips to major food store.

You can also call the local public transit agency; some have small buses, paratransit or point to point service for nominal fees.

My small town grocery store delivers to seniors for a $5.00 fee. They gather all the food per the senior's list, bag it all and deliver it into the home. Might be worth calling her local grocery.

The local council on aging here is very helpful. You can even apply for a proxy shopper.

Call your county Office of the Aging. They may have a senior bus that will take her shopping and to appts.
