When should you suggest checking for dementia to the doctor?

Should you do this in front of your love one?

I think as soon as you are concerned about it, you should keep a log of the behavior that worries you. Summarize it in a note to the doctor. "Here are some things about Joe that worry me. I thought you should be aware of these changes in his behavior."

If you loved one is also worrying about these changes then I think it is OK to bring it up in front of him. Or he could ask the question and you could supply the details.

If your loved one has not noticed that anything is wrong then I think it is better to let the doctor bring it up, based on the note you sent.
