Where do I get power of attorney papers?

I went to Legal Aid with Dad & they did it for us. It was free.

I agree with Windyridge, best to have an Elder Law Attorney draw up the Power of Attorney. Do not try to do-it-yourself by copying a blank copy off of the Internet. One misplaced word or one left out word could cause a nightmare.

I see from your profile that you are taking care of your Grandfather who has Alzheimer's/Dementia. Would this Power of Attorney be for him? If yes, and if Grandfather is at a point where he could not understand a legal document, then he would not be able to legally sign the Power of Attorney appointing you or someone else to act in his best interest. If he is clear minded in the mornings, then set an appointment with the Attorney in the mornings, same with the signing.

See a lawyer in your state that does elder law. Laws can vary. Just downloading a generic form can be risky.
