Will VA help make a ramp for the crippled spouse of a 100% disabled vet?

Call your local Disabilities department. Here in SJersey a friend had a temporary one installed by them. When he no longer needs it, it goes back to them.

Rocky, I don't think the VA would "make", i.e., build, a ramp but it does have programs for assistive and adaptive living. Have you been qualified for 100% service connected disability? If so, you should have a primary care doctor in a specific team assigned to you. It's my understanding that social workers are also assigned to specific teams.

If you do have a VA PCP, call that number, speak with the social worker and ask about getting a ramp for you or your wife. I recall reading about a specific program but don't recall the name of it. It's the one that provides assistive devices and retrofits for qualified Vets.

Alternatively, call your state or local county VA office and pose the question to them. The service officers could probably answer your question right away.

Good luck.
