How safe is it for a 80-year-old female to have uterus prolapse surgery?

I just asked this last Thursday. My moms 87, can't hear, and dementia. I made an appt with doc at Cleve Clinic in Aug. She has been getting uti's.

If she is in good shape and the doctor advises it, it makes sense. Of course I wondered if they would remove the uterus or hold it in place with a mesh. The anesthesia may be rough, but if the surgery is not too long, she'll probably do fine. I would follow the doctor's recommendation if she has several more years of life. Is there a reason you are hesitant about this?
