I have a similar problem with my father, he is calmed by music from his generation on stereo headphones. Just an idea?

How was she before the Haldol?

The point of any drugs is to improve things. If this isn't an improvement, take Ms Madge's advice and contact your mother's doctor to report back. Don't stop the prescription without advice, but do get the advice as soon as you can.

Meanwhile, would your father care to try giving your mother a hand massage? It might be soothing for her, and it would give him something to do besides tear his hair out.

How is he coping more generally? And how are you?

no she isnt agitated, more sedated than anything.

Haldol was not a good choice for my mom - like an elephant tranquilizer

Let the doctor know her reaction, and see if there's another drug - is she agitated ?
