Is crying, just anytime a stage of early onset dementia?

 It comes and goes.

Thanks for your reply. I just saw an ad on TV about the PBA and he is only crying at this point. No real laughing inappropriately yet. I need to find a Dr. who is versed in Alzheimer's or dementia. We only have a family Dr. and he isn't helpful with any questions I have. There are no clear answers with dementia. It seems there are all kinds of issues and not a timeline or clear path to look at.

Possibly, but, it could be something else. Definitely, I'd discuss with the doctor. Have you ever heard of PBA (PseudoBulbar Affect) ? It's a neurological condition that causes unexpected laughing or crying. You can check it out on line to see more details. I'd ask the doctor about it.
