What kinds of care should hospice be providing?

I care for a lady on Hospice but have noticed that the aide and the nurse that come once a week do little care at all. If I am not in the room they allow my lady to tell them if she wants care. This ends in them coming and going in a matter of minutes having done nothing. No bath no vitals taken. They don't even empty her catheter bag. What kinds of care should they be providing ?

My husband was very cooperative, and never turned an offer of care down. The nurse always asked if there any problems. He wasn't too comfortable in bed. She had a mattress pad delivered that day. He was bothered by drooling. She brought in a patch for behind his ear that helped that a lot. He was having abdominal pain. She checked him over, went out to her car, brought in a sterile catheter and put it in. He got immediate relief.

I did the primary caregiving, but the nurse and aid were a very helpful and worthwhile addition.

If she does not want the care the hospice workers, by law, are not to provide it.
