What age do you need a geriatric doctor?

anonymous281963 Nov 2016
Had a second opinion from a "geriatric specialist", who told me....
A Geriatic physician treats the frail elderly, usually ages 80 or 90.

Well, I know this was a lie.

I would think when one starts to experience medical problems that occur usually when one gets older. My parents didn't seek out a geriatric doctor until they were in their 80's. Some one else might benefit at the age of 55.

At age 60. But if you have had the same physician for many years, who knows you well, I see no need to change.
