AhHaHa, we don't remember the last snowfall because we purge the memories of Winter on the first warm Spring day, kind of like emptying the recycle bin on your computer ;)
I have been coming to this site since 2013 and I am from Alberta, Canada but I left Ireland.26 years ago to come here. Oh yes, we do get lots if snow-- sometimes. In fact we just had our first snowfall last night. As usual, drivers forget how to drive in snow and there have been many collisions. Its only been seven months since last years snow disappeared so you would think that the memories would still be there!
Here in Canada eh.......our health care system is quite different from the states and other places. For instance, we actually have subsidized health care. You still need to pay into it monthly but it's a far cry from having to pay through the nose like you do in other countries.
Oh yeah, and we don't live in igloos and our police don't ride on horseback unless they are walking through a park or in a parade. Our Prime Minister actually walked in the gay pride parade with his wife and children to show his support and went to the last Tragically Hip concert. To those of you not familiar with the Tragically Hip they are a really cool, Canadian band whose lead singer has advanced brain cancer.

i think it would be interesting for everyone to divulge where theyre from and maybe a little bit about our respective areas . im from central indiana . were called " hoosiers " . accepted legend has it that the term came from the frontier days when there were still a lot of native americans living here . for the sake of safety , the cabin door usually had the latch string retracted to the inside when the family were chillin in the evenings . a knock on the door would induce a loud bellow from inside -- HOOS - YERE . ( whos there . )
Yes to both. It is an American website, but the forums include participants from all over. The only requirement is writing in English!
It is a good idea to identify your location when you ask questions, so that, for example, we don't explain a Medicaid policy in detail if you are in Canada!
The ads and info provided by the site are all aimed at people living in the USA, but the forum is open to anyone from anywhere, I've read posts from the UK, South Africa, Australia even India and the Middle East. The information in the forum about caring for someone is universal and applies no matter where you are, it is only the legal and health insurance stuff that is strictly American, but even then there may be someone on the site who can help you out. BTW, I'm Canadian and there are several of us who are regulars here.
