What is the definition for APS?

Someone on this site suggest that I contact the APS, but I have no clue what that stands for.

Yes, Adult Protective Services, but works a little differently than Child Protective Services. A couple of things I noticed differently was temporary help inside the home. I am my father in laws full time care giver in my home. I needed back surgery in March, but my husband couldnt take time off from work to care for his dad so APS paid for 2 mouths of part time in home care for my father in law so he wouldnt have to go into a nursing home. They are a resource to not only the eldery person, but the family caring for them. If they cant help then they direct you to someone who can.

APS stands for Adult Protective Services. It is a government based agency that is responsible for the welfare of at risk adults and seniors in their community. You can usually find one in major cities or larger communities and they have jurisdiction over a certain area. In my state (MA) it is actually called Elder Affair Services, same thing though.
