How much can be put in irrevocable burial account in Philadelphia?

Is the cost of the plot included in that limit?  Not on Medicaid yet. Likely to need nursing home care within the next year.

So funeral director says Philadelphia limit is $10,000 for burial (casket, services, etc). That should be in an irrevocable account. Was told the cost of the plot has no limit and is accounted for separately. Hoping this is correct but having trouble verifying it. Can anybody verify this is correct?

Depends on which county she is in. The funeral director should know the average cost for her area. The next factor is how fancy you want this to be, such as a 3 day wake, procession to church, church service, procession to grave, graveside service, memorial cards, guest book, flowers, headstone and so on. Average in Philadelphia is about $8000.
