I am the POA for both my parents. Is there a higher level than POA?

Dad has dementia and is starting to have trouble making sound decisions, especially financially. I have heard of another level above a POA that would give me control of all his financial dealings......Can someone explain what that is?

What about a Conservatorship? Would this be hard to get?

I have a General Durable Power of Attorney [12 pages long] for my Dad which allows me to make all financial and health decisions for him. Recently I was able to sell my parent's house and put the equity into a money market which allows me to transfer said monies into checking to pay any bills for my Dad.

Find an Elder Law Attorney to draw up the General Durable Power of Attorney, but your Dad would need to still have the ability to understand the document before he can sign it.
