Mom lives in a nursing home for over 5 years. Who's responsible to extend her MEDI-MEDI to maintain her medical coverages?
NH might hv dropped a ball at maintaining her MEDI-MEDI. Now I'm getting the bills from private insurance or drs offs left & right. how do i resolve the issue? please help.
Usually the person with power of attorney is responsible for renewing Medicaid. If that is you, you need to contact her case worker and find out if she has been dropped and how to file appeal. Medicaid paperwork has to be renewed at certain intervals set by state law.
Does the nursing home have guardianship? Where does her mail go? It would seem to me that unless guardianship is an issue, whoever is POA is reaponsible for taking care of her financial affairs.
