Where can I donate items bought for my Father with Parkinson's?

WOW, the food pantry I volunteer at was thrilled with the 'leftover' depends/ensure/bedliners, etc when I dropped them off after my Mom passed. As for the rollater --- many muscular dystrophy chapters have loaner closets. Perhaps the Parkinson's Disease chapter in your area has one as well. If not, some thrift stores take such equipment for resale. Otherwise, A non-profit nursing home may accept it. If none of these ideas work, some non profits that work overseas take such items and ship them over. Typically when they are filling a container with 'stuff'. One near me recently took lots of medical equipment and treadle sewing machines! Sorry about your Dad. I hope you find a good home for his things.

A lot of towns have "lending closets" where they loan out things like the walker. And they may be able to give away the other items. I'm not sure if they'd take food products or not. So I'd start with your local senior center, they'd know if there's a lending closet for medical products. If your town doesn't have one of those, I'd call the nearest hospital or your Area Agency on Aging to see if there's a program that donates those kinds of items to those in need.

Some senior centers have "loan closets" which will take durable medical equipment. I don't know about food though. If there's a local Meals on Wheels program, and if the food is unopened, they make take it, but I doubt if anyone would take anything that has to be refrigerated as they wouldn't want to gamble that lack of refrigeration might have caused spoilage.

In SE Michigan there's an agency titled Oakland Living Human Services Agency which I believe has a loan closet. Perhaps there's a similar county or bi-county agency in your area.
