My Mom is widowed from two WWII veterans. Can she apply for Aid and Attendance under 1st husband's benefits?

We have the all the required service information for her first husband. Unfortunately, we don't have her second husband's military information, and I think it will be hard to find it. Can we apply for aid and attendance using her first husband's information?

If the VA regulations are anything like Social Security's she can collect benefits under even an ex spouse if she does not remarry before turning 60 years of age. Remarriage before 60 you must collect under most recent spouses benefit, but only if you were married at least ten years.

I believe the only requirement is if your mother was married to and living with the veteran at the time of his death. Next of kin can request service records online via

Check by calling the VA in her area. My best guess is it may have to be under the second husband.
