Does VA compensation count as income for an independent apt. living?

As I know it is tax free & not counted on my yearly income tax form. just wondering if VA comp would prevent me from being accepted for senior living apartment ?

There was a similar question within the last month or so. I've just searched for it and can't find it, but I think the easier answer would be to ask the company that owns the IL facility if the kind of compensation you get would be considered. It's actually quicker than doing research to get a very precise and completely accurate answer.

I'm also not sure if you're referring to compensation for service connected disability or some other form of VA payment, since you're the wife of a deceased veteran.

Did one of the services organizations help quality you for these payments? If so, that would be a good place to start with your questions.
