My mom is very ill and is in the hospital. She's dry heaving and doesn't want to eat. Today she asked me to bring her a beer in the hospital. I told her no because I can't bring alcohol to a hospital. She called me a b*tch and told me never to come back again. This hurt me to my core. We are best friends our entire lives. I can't take a beer to a hospital right? She's very pleasant to the hospital staff but is becoming very mean to me. She never was like this to me unless we had a huge argument. Any insight would be helpful.

As far as the beer, or anything else she may ask for, tell her you'll ask the nurse/doctor if she can have it. The professionals can then be the bad guys if the answer is no.
