My wife's sister has POA for Mom with dementia. My wife was never informed of this. Any advice?

We are the primary carers in our home. The sister is on licence and has recently been in jail. The sister has also got full control of the mums bank accounts and pension. We was living in thailand and once we knew she had dementia we moved back to the UK to care for her. Can you please inform us of where we stand please?

In the UK, you would need to seek a barrister (lawyer) who can change that over to you by seeking a court order to remove her and appoint you. This is called Guardian status. There will be court fees and legal fees.
