one other thing. I fill out everything that I can, to be sure it is right, and then the Dr. can sign off on it. Lessons learned.

Hi, you are speaking of the aid and attendance pension, right? There is a form to apply for the pension, and one for the dr to complete also. I recommend that you call the pension hotline, it is on the VA site, and they can direct you to these forms. Also, your wife can be your third party communicator if you wish by signing a form but it may put you into a state of incompetence, only becauseof sight issues not mental. It is their term. She can then soeak on your behalf. But it comes with other distinctions so ask them. And good luck. I just got approval for my mom and it took 5 mos. She will be back paid. She is the vets widow, bit it is the same pension.

Get an Elder Benefits consultant to do the paperwork for Aid & Attendance. Doctors are notoriously bad at filling out forms properly.

What aid are you applying for, Medicaid? Your wife needs to fill that out and Medicaid will ask for information about your doctor so they can contact the doctors you have.

If I'm not correct in guessing what kind of aid you are looking for, please tell us what it is?
