Would you consider family members talking a person diagnosed with Cerebral angiopathy myopathy into giving them his possessions (car) abuse?

My brother is not in his right mind and he just gave his brand new truck away to a family member who begged for it. He will need it to sell for his care as his condition progresses. Is it considered elder abuse?

If you do not know all the ins and outs of his finances, then maybe they have funds to pay for his care til the end. Otherwise, they will be in trouble if they try to apply for Medicaid because of the gifting of assets. Maybe the sister actually bought the truck? Do you know for sure that she didn't?

I am not actually the caregiver, I am the sister. His wife is caring for him and giving his things away and when it comes time to put him in a home, they will not have the money to do it. She talked him into giving away a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado to one of her sisters! They will need that money later for his care!

Yes it is considered "undue influence", a form of elder abuse and should be immediately reported to the county APS (adult protection) department in Social Services.

Could be. Apparently you think so and it does sound like abuse.
