Could it be possible that she doesn't have Alzheimer's?

My stepmother was diagnosed with an early form of alzheimers over a hear and a half ago - she was angry took meds for a while and now is refusing. Her daughter has moved her out of my fathers house but is blaming him - has had her file for divorce and now has found a doctor who says she doesn't have alzheimers. Our hands are tied but we are very worries -- she was diagnosed by a neurologist

It's entirely possible. Alzheimer's Disease is diagnosed by a series of questions and observations and tests but is only diagnosed for sure with an autopsy.

She was diagnosed by a very good neurologist in a top notch hospital. she has anger issues and the slightest change in meds can set her off as well as a hospital stay which is what caused her to be diagnosed in the first place. the 'New" doctor is a geriatric family practitioner who can find nothing wrong with her. Wouldn't that be a blessing but I have never heard of this. We are all concerned but the lawyer says because her daughter has power of attorney there is nothing we can do. We don't know why she is doing this

Who diagnosed her to begin with? Is she competent to file for divorce?
