My mother-in-law passed away and received by direct deposit her SS check. Can we keep it?

She passed on Feb 26 and was buried on March 1. To cover funeral costs etc...
She lived in Canada

If it was received in March, no. They will take it back. You will be able to keep the one received in February. You'll receive the final benefit of about $255 for March if I understand correctly.
