I have no way to help my parent who will be evicted. What do I do?

My parent is already in assisted living is influenced by a sibling who uses their residence payment obligations vs paying Im out of state. Concern is I have no legal way to stop them using their funds inappropriately for sibling. I can't take them off their own account and can't stop the influence of the sibling being remote to the parent's location and have been estranged for a long time.

Is your father using his funds to support sibling, instead of paying AL fees? Is your father competent? Then he's allowed to make poor choices. Do not rescue him. Let the facility help him figure it out.

First of all, do not pick up parent. Let the facility handle the legal process which would include action by the county social worker to take protective custody of the parent. You stay out of the picture and encourage the facility to initiate the criminal investigation.

You might want to contact an Elder Law attorney who could give you advice on what to do.
