My Mom (83) lives with us and is aggressive and mean. I can't take it any more. Advice?

She has always been difficult but my husband and I can't stand it anymore. She has never worked here and has not money or assets. Can we get her in a home? She came here illegally ten years ago because she says that she was desperate and could not stay in England. There was no one there to take care ofd her because she had driven away all family members and has no friends.

Get a lawyer. Harboring an illegal alien is a Federal Offense. Hopefully your mother's circumstances can help her get legal status in this country. Getting her into a home without legal status is impossible and could lead to deportation.

If you live in Massachusetts their are all kinds of benefits for illegals. Just search mass.gov...

I was all set to give you an answer but I tripped on the "here illegally" part. You are not obligated to keep her in your home indefinitely, but the illegal status will most likely impact the alternatives available.

I think you need to get legal advice. Ordinarily I'd say find someone specializing in Elder Law, but in this case you may need someone experienced in immigration policies. Explain the situation when you make an appointment to be sure the firm and handle your issues.

I am sorry that you are in this stressful situation and I hope you find some resolution quickly.

More information would be helpful. Such as where is "here"? Mom's age and illness? Can she live independent or does she need help? Please fill out your profile. Thanks :)
