Is this the norm when respite care dictate how long of a stay you need to send your parent?

I want a 2 week stay for my mom so my dau, son in law and 2 toddler grandsons can visit us in N J from out of state for 2 weeks so we can free up an extra room in our 3 bedroom house... I looked on the internet for my area and there are 3 places in my area...within 2 seconds on hitting the send button with my info I got 3 calls...the all want a minimum of 4 weeks for a cost of $4000.00. I want only 2 weeks right now

Some places don't 'do respite care' until they have so-o many open beds all at one time, that they 'do take respite residents'. Call those near you, many will do it under the circumstances if they have a load of empty beds! BUT they aren't the ones responding to your inquiry.

whipped, if I were you I'd check into adult foster care options too in your area. They are usually cheaper and could be an alternative for you.
