What is considered the poverty level according to gross income ?

For retired seniors who do not have enough income to pay taxes to the IRS.

Much sympathy to you on the passing of your husband. My heart goes out to you with your own medical issues. It would seem that you should easily qualify for Medicaid. Hugs and blessings to you.

We haven't paid taxes in ages and my husband got nursing home Medicaid with no problem at all. He died March 23 and now I am trying to get Medicaid since he took all the money to his grave with him and I can't talk or swallow.

I am in the same place as you are . I go moment to moment & trust the process & pay the bills & care for my husband. We make it month to month.
No one lives forever. For me, being ever present works.

Those are two different issues. Poverty levels have nothing to do with whether or not you file taxes. If you are asking the question on 4/10 I suggest you go online to irs.gov and look it up. Best to do this ASAP in case you need to file for an extension.
