I mean, can we really improve the condition of the caregivee and/or ourselves with this? After all anyone who is taking care of someone with dementia or alz know that we are fighting a losing battle. Negative thoughts lurking more often than we want to admit. Does all this negativity really affect our situation? Can affirmation, visualization, etc really helps change the situation?

That week, after watching it, I drove to the store. I envisioned VERY HARD (almost had myself believing it) that there would be a free parking spot right by the store. I really tried this.
There wasn't.
So, I'm not so sure about the whole "think it and it shall be" thing...
Now, I do believe in the power of positive thinking, but that's a different ball of wax.
reading about dementia seems to prepare you for the inevitable deterioration in the relationship too. when mom accused me of stealing money i had a feeling that trying to kill her and myself being an imposter werent far off.
