My friend has an L.V.A.D. heart device that's electric and battery powered cataracts getting progressively worse. Any advice?

Has a home nurse come 3 times weekly needs daily care for food medication bathing basicly 24hour care although he is somewhat independant, except for nearly burnjng house down a few times

You might ask him his plans and if he would give you permission to talk to his cardiac team they should have a social worker on the team. He may be telling them that he is more independent than he really is and may need re-evaluation. An L.V.A.D. Device is pretty serious business to have at home.

Do you have any contact with his relatives? If so, you might tell them of your concerns. The responsibility for his care really rests with them. If there are no relatives, you may try talking to your county social services and see if they have any suggestions.
