My wife has Alz's two years ago at.55 - level is 4-5 and I am having trouble getting her to put her diapers on. Any clever suggestions?

She is cognitive of her needs to have these on and is capable of putting them on herself. She bath's and dresses herself mostly, I help pick out clothes and put shoes, blouses, sweaters on. Most times I have difficulty getting her to bath even though she realizes she has bad odor. It might be 4-5 days before I can get her into the shower. Any clever idea's on how to coax her to do things would be appreciated. Sincerely, In Tahoe

Whatever you do don't call it a diaper. Call it whatever she called her underwear before. I'm so sorry what you're going thru as a husband. What a guy!! I'm just learning to change my mother's panties when she all of a sudden got bed-ridden (late-stage Mixed Dementia).

For mom it was a matter of finding the brand that she likes, and getting a proper fit. If she is 5'3" and 160lbs, she might use an XL. Get her size in several different brands Depends, Tena, Prevail etc. Some come in pastel colors and look and feel like panties. Then slowly get rid of the cotton pants. They can disappear in the laundry and never come back. When the only thing left in the drawer is the disposables, she will use them. Of course keep spare clean ones right next to the toilet, along with baby butt wipes.
