Visiting a local Alz/Dementia caregiver support group without that diagnosis?

My husband (we're both 70) has a lot of the problems I see described here, but the VA doctors say that his PTSD/Diabetes/Heart Failure/stress can account for them, and that no other indicators of ALZ are present.

Any thoughts about how I should behave, other than mostly keeping quiet? I'm familiar with abuse survivor support groups, but never caregivers' groups.

I talked to the facilitator of a nearby ALZ caregivers group which is having a meeting today, and she reluctantly said I could attend. I plan to keep quiet, and hope to get a sense of local doctors and counselors that might be good to consult. And especially how to present some problems to our Primary Care doctor in that town, or whether to go to a different to help me with my stress.
