Mom's doctors are suggesting all sorts of interventions to save her injured leg. She is old and weak and mentally can't stand the hospital. How do we get this across to them?

My mother at 92 was dropped in her shower by her 60 year old caregiver and after surgery has a horrible, painful wound that will not heal. She is in a nursing home. The only alternative to getting her out of pain is amputation. The doctors are suggesting all sorts of intervention to try to save the leg. She is old and weak and mentally can't stand the hospital. How do we get this across to them?
