Evpraxia Asked March 2011

My 95 year old father in law has a yeast infection, any ideas on how to get rid of it?

I am thinking about using cloth instead of disposable diapers/belted shields. We are trying to get rid of a yeast infection in his groin.

Anyone have any experience with cloth diapers? Good and bad, different types, etc?

Thanks!

I haven't had experience with cloth diapers for decades, but I do remember that I kept a diaper pail with strong bleach water in the bath tub for soaking, and got them washed daily. You'll want to make sure you are killing off the bacteria. I have read where sometimes disposable diapers don't allow enough "breathing" - but I'm no expert. Let's see what others have to say.

Hi Carol,

The "skin breathing" issue is exactly what concerns me.

I called FuzziBunz (baby diaper maker) and they are sending us some prototypes for adults; I'll let this site know how it goes.
