We are moving to a new home sometime this year. How can I make the transition easier for mom as we are taking her with us?

ezcare. Good thoughts. She is going to have the same setup that she has now. 2 rooms, walk in closet and bath all to herself. My best friend and her husband just moved to the same place and they have her 99 year old mom with her. It will be nice to visit. I am bringing her curtains, rugs and her blasted CAT. Should be good for her, more work for me, but in the long run, it will be worth it. In NJ our property taxes are so high and my county is the highest in the nation!!!!! Will be good to get out from under all that stress. Thanks!

Try to recreate her bedroom or sitting room exactly as it was in the old home. Also let her know that you will be moving any nick-knacks and other favorite items unless she wants to part with them. Avoid the tendency to see this move as a chance to start anew by getting all new furniture etc. That might be good for you but not for her. If you a moving a long distance away, discuss ways she can stay in touch with and even visit old friends and neighbors. Good luck
