In Michigan you can get help from Agencies like Ageways. Call your county DHS to find out. Or hire an elder law attorney. They are pricy but you may need to spend down the money anyway.

I think you may get responses if you provide more details. Applying for Medicaid has factors to it and also is not universal amongst states.
