Caregiver of my mom. This week I see a big decline in memory. She's not aware that she's confused.

My mom isn't aware either,I may be wrong but I don't think there are many that are aware.

Has anything happened that might have upset her? Posters have mentioned the shock to elders who see themselves in a mirror suddenly, and are so shocked by the changes that they retreat into themselves. Is she just quiet, or is she getting mixed up verbally? If you can't think of a trigger, yes, check the UTI, and perhaps consider a mini-heart attack.

Sudden changes? Always check for a urinary tract infection.
