If you look into their eyes, can you see your loved one as they were before their illness?

The eyes in fact are the windows to the soul; sometimes as people age, those expressions become so important to maintain the bonds that were created over years, especially when the ravages of age and disease deprive us of the means to communicate by which we once expressed our affection.

And, yes, I have seen those expressions of someone who used to be so much physically stronger than today, who is struggling but who can still maintain the caring personality I knew as I was growing up.

It makes me love her even more.
