We felt guilty too, she seemed so depressed when we visited. One day we came unannounced and found her sitting with other residents and laughing and chatting with them. Guilt went out the window.
Of course it is. She can get skilled care and healthy meals. I truly think being in skilled care is much better than home care, for 99% of the patients. You loved her enough to get her the right care.
