The home they are talking about may no longer exist. It maybe a childhood home. I believe as Dementia progresses they become like children. And what do children want, to go home. Just say, not until the doctor allows it. When you are doing better. As some have said, change the subject. Not always easy, they get something in their head and won't let go.

How about asking your parent to tell you all about their home? Start by getting to the front gate, then what it's like to go to the door (will you use the front door or the back or through the garage?), then what they will do inside. They might enjoy reminiscing, and you might find out which 'home' they mean.
