Hi tomcat, what exactly is the problem you are having? It helps to have a shower chair so they don't have to stand, and a hand held shower. Do you have grab bars? Some folks with dementia seem to develop a resistance to water/showering, is that your problem? Tell us more.
My Dad is now refusing to get into the shower. I have a shower bench but I can't even get him to sit down now. I don't know what to do! Very frustrated and exhausted.
For basic cleanliness, you can switch to something like the NoRinse products, which can be applied to clean and wiped off with a washcloth without the person ever having to be immersed under a shower.
This dry shower can be done in a warm room, different parts of the body at a time, so the person can remain partially clothed and not get cold as easily as if taking a shower.
