I was my mom's caregiver. Now she's gone and I need work. Are there any caregiving jobs that don't require bathing or special education that pay?

Yes. Talk to the caregiver agencies in your area. Many will hire you to drive around clients to appointments and prepare meals for clients at the start of alzheimers who can still walk and do steps etc. They also will take clients to the grocery store.

We see this all the time in Florida.

Tell the agency owners you want to do this type of care, not the advanced care.

You can be a Home Health Aide, easily. Some agencies will train employees so they can become CNA's and earn more money.

Where we lived, I had been told by agencies - that they have a terrible time getting people, and that those they hire can pick their own hours and pick where they want to work. There is a shortage of Caregivers. Too many elderly, not enough Caregivers.

About the caregiving question... Yes you can be hired as a caregiver who has less skills.. in other words you don't have to do personal care, pt, etc., But perhaps you can do light housekeeping, shopping, laundry etc. you would do more housekeeping than attending to your patient. There are some caregivers who prefer not to do any type of personal care. I actually started out that way but I loved caregiving a great deal and I loved my patients and so I took classes so that I could learn more skills and feel comfortable. I became hospice trained so that I could stay with my patients until they passed. Caregivers and companions and CNAs are urgently needed everywhere and you would definitely find a job. I'm so sorry for your circumstances. Please consider calling social services for your county and telling them about the domestic violence and pending homelessness. APS can get your Mom into a facility. You may need to go to a woman's shelter and when there seek counseling services.
