What's the appropriate amount to gift $ to the owner/operator of an in-home care facility and to the other four who care for my dad?

I'm the owner of a homecare business. I do not accept gifts from clients or their families. If a client or their family wants to give a gift to their caregiver(s) for the holidays they should. Our policy is nothing over $100 in cash or with a value higher than $100. The 'owner' where your father is already collects ten grand a month for your father's care. They are also taking hours away from the caregivers they employ. There's a good living to be made in this business without taking work away from your employees. This owner is greedy and keeping the FULL AMOUNT collected for your father's care themselves. I guarantee you this 'owner' does not pay the other caregivers anywhere near what they're paying themselves for the time they're putting in caring for your father and the other residents. Trust me, they're making a fortune. I'm going to fill in for a couple of my caregivers who celebrate Christmas. Holiday pay is double-time. The cost to the client is also charged double-time. The caregivers working the holiday even at double-time don't make nearly this much per hour as I will and they're paid well.

If you want to give cash or gift cards to the employees do that. Just check with the employer because they may have a policy about it. If they do, ask if you can give them a pizza party with cake as a gift and give each caregivers candy or some treat like that.

As a business owner myself, I'm going to tell you some useful advice. Ask how much of a holiday bonus the caregivers get. They probably don't get any. Don't give the boss a gift.

Traditionally, the owners of businesses are not given holiday gifts or tips. That’s said, it’s always kind and appreciated to give to those in such a hard working role. Let your budget be your guide and do what you can, perhaps including some baked goods to each. It’s nice of you to think of the caregivers
