Medicare is your health insurance. You use it anytime you need a health provider so carry it in your wallet. Dental and glasses are not covered. You need a suppliment to cover those and the 20% that Medicare does not cover. YourCounty has an Office of Aging and someone there should be able to help you understand how it all works.

You should have received a book with information.
You can go online to medicare.gov and get all the info you need.
The Medicare Card will be needed when you see your doctors.
they will scan the card with your ID.
Bills will be sent to Medicare as your primary insurance. If you have other insurance that will be billed as secondary insurance.

there are SHIP counselors that can help you navigate this as well.
Google SHIP counselor and the area you live in.
The counselors will give you unbiased information.
They are trained in a variety of Medicare programs and can help you select a plan for you if you are thinking of any of the "advantage plans"
By the way SHIP stands for State Health Insurance Assistance Program.

If you are looking to get into Assisted Living using Medicare you will have to find another way as Medicare does not cover Assisted Living.
