What is HSA?

I received a message today indicating HSA could help with expenses related to care, but I don't know what HSA is or how it could help. I'm still at home with help, but may have to move to some form of assisted living in the future.

If I remember correctly from my working days, its a way of putting aside money to offset out of pocket costs. Money is deposited in this fund before taxes are taken out. You have to approximate what these out of pocket costs will be and you must use that money by year end of the year or I think you lose it.

This is a program for working people. There is no elegability after age 65. A portion or the paycheck is placed in a fund before taxes. It needs to be spent on medical services.

Health Savings Account.
Some people take a sum of money and put it in a HSA and that money is used for Health related expenses.
This is is done most commonly on paychecks.

If it's vague it might be a scam. "HSA" is not enough to go on so more info would be helpful.

"HSA" sometimes refers to a "health savings account," which is a type of employee benefit that is used to pay some types of health-care expenses. You probably would know if you have an HSA.
